JESUP – The Jesup Public Library (JPL) has announced several events and activities for March.
Chapter Chat Book Club: Book Club will meet on Monday, March 17 at 1 p.m. to discuss “The Things They Carried†by Tim O’Brien. Books are available now to pick up at the JPL. All are welcome!
Lil Tots Story Time meets every Thursday at 10:30 a.m. for songs, stories and more!
Fun & Play at the JPL: The JPL community room will be open every Thursday from 8 to 9 a.m. for toddlers and caregivers to play in a safe, indoor environment! The library will provide toys, but no staff will be present, and the library will not be open during this hour. Please use the side community room door to enter.
Exercise with Friends: Bring your friends every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning at 8 a.m. in the Library Community Room for low-impact, video-led workouts. We try to do a new/different video each day, lasting from 45-60 minutes. These workouts are beginner-friendly and can be done seated or standing. New participants are always welcome! Reminder: There is no exercise group on days when the Library is closed for a holiday, or when school cancels due to weather.
Card Games: All are invited every Tuesday at 1 p.m. to play card games in the JPL community room. We’ll supply the cards and coffee, you supply the fun!! Games played will be determined by those in attendance.
Books & Brews Book Club: Do you like books? Do you like beer? Join us for our Books & Brews Book Club! We talk about books and drink beer on the first Monday of every month at Allerton Brewing Company in Independence! Our next Books & Brews meeting will be on Monday, April 7 at 6:30 p.m. We will discuss “The Unhoneymooners†by Christina Lauren. Pick up your copy of the selected book at the JPL and meet at Allerton for a lively discussion.
Movie Monday: Join us on Monday, March 24 at 1 p.m. for “Wicked,†starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. Rated PG. Runs 2 hours, 40 minutes. Invite your friends for FREE admission and popcorn!
Hospice Education: Lynn Fettkether from St. Croix Hospice will answer questions and dispel myths about Hospice care, insurance, and how to provide specialized care for your loved ones. Join us on Wednesday, March 26 at 1 p.m.
STEM Wednesday: Join us at 1:30 p.m. on early-out Wednesday, April 2 for Shape-O-Saurus! In partnership with ISU Extension Buchanan County. Space is limited; pre-registration is required. $5 charge per child will be collected at the door. Suitable for grades K-4.
