Honor Hovenga is the name to watch for the Janesville girls track and field team in 2025. The returning state qualifier will lead a team of many young athletes for the Wildcats.
Hovenga proved to be a master of the hurdles last season. She qualified in the 100-meter hurdles, placed fourth in the 400-meter hurdles, and was apart of the state qualifying shuttle hurdle relay team. Also on that team is fellow returners Addy Oldenburger, Hayden Pugh, and Klaire Osborn.
Of the 19 total girls on the team, 13 are underclassmen. While Hovenga, Oldenburger, Pugh, and Osborn look to make repeat appearances at the state tournament, the rest of the team will look to grow, and perhaps build toward a state appearance of their own.
