A recent dispute between Iowa Gov. Kim Reynold and Winneshiek County Sheriff Dan Marx over assisting the federal government with immigration enforcement has sent ripples through the Iowa law enforcement community. A Waverly farmer was recently honored along with other leaders in agricultural innovation, policy, storytelling for outstanding contributions benefiting the soybean industry, officials stated in a press release. The recognition to Yvonne Wente of Waverly was given along with other recipients in eight categories by the Iowa Soybean Association (ISA) during its annual awards luncheon and ceremony hosted Dec. 17.
