INDEPENDNECE – The Independence High School band got new uniforms in 1957 and have been replaced several times since then. The Buchanan County Historical Society has one uniform from each era.
Visit the Lee Mansion, located next to the Independence Public Library (805 1st Street East), to see and learn more about local history. There are now more displays to view. The Lee Mansion is now OPEN from 1 to 3 p.m. every weekend. Security cameras are active.
