VINTON — Paws On Your Heart Pet Rescue Support, a pet rescue organization, has announced Better Together Animal Rescue, Inc. (BT) of Vinton, as one of the first recipients of their new Community Service Project Support Awards.
According to a press release from the organization, “Paws On Your Heart Pet Rescue Support “provides grants and other help to non-profit organizations that rescue, care for and adopt dogs and/or cats or help other Iowa pet rescues. The awards are in support of such Community projects as Educational Events, Providing Pet Supplies or Services or in Support of Other Community needs.”
Paws On Your Heart explained the reasons Better Together Animal Rescue was chosen as a 2025 Community Service Award winner.
“Better Together works with the Iowa Humane Alliance in Cedar Rapids which offers high quality, low cost spay and neuter services to community cats being humanely cared for by community members. In the summer of 2024, they were able to provide this service for 12 cats through a TNVR (trap, neuter, vaccinate, return) pilot project that they conducted. This award will provide Better Together with the funds to offer this service free to another 10 community cats this summer of 2025. It may not sound like many, but it is another 10 cats who will no longer contribute to the yearly number of homeless kittens in the community.”
