VINTON — The Vinton-Shellsburg Landscape team, made up of Ciara Dods, Madeline Pingenot, Kirsten Pettit, Ali Lutz, Kassidi Brunssen, and Andrew Allsup, proudly represented their team at the Kirkwood Landscape Challenge, bringing home an impressive set of awards.
The group placed 3rd overall in the contest, showcasing their strong skills and teamwork throughout the competition. The team’s hard work especially shined in the Hardscape Installation category, where they earned 1st place for their precision and creativity. In addition, Andrew Allsup stood out individually, taking 2nd place in Equipment Operation.
This event challenged students to apply their classroom knowledge to real-world landscaping situations, testing their abilities in design, installation, and equipment handling. Other components of the contests included plant identification, irrigation installation, and online landscape design.
The team’s success highlights their dedication and hands-on skill in the field of horticulture and landscape design. Congratulations to these members on their outstanding performance and for representing their program so well!
