Wapsie Valley boys net top-4 placements at Dike

Wapsie Valley’s 400-meter relay placed third in 44.62 seconds to lead the program during the Wolverine Boys Invitational on Tuesday in Dike. The Warrior boys placed ninth with 36.5 points.

The sprint medley relay placed third (1:36.45), as did Tate Wilkinson in the high jump (5 feet, 8 inches). The 800 relay placed fourth (1:36.39), as did the distance medley relay (3:52.97). Cooper Adair was fifth in the high jump (5-6).

Wapsie Valley’s girls second Monday

The Warriors scored 134 points Monday at the New Hampton Girls Invitational.

Wapsie Valley boys third at Jesup triangular

The Warriors carded a 196 during a North Iowa Cedar League triangular on Tuesday at Jesup Golf & Country Club to place third.

Tanner Bergmann, Aidan Oldfather, Blake Hesse and Briggs Boehme all carded a 49 to make up the score. Reece Hagenow (50) and Ari Behnke (52) placed 14th and 15th.

Abby Mann tied for fifth in the girls field with a 57.

Starmont girls fall at home in Tri-Rivers match

The Stars fell, 227-238, to Maquoketa Valley during a Tri-Rivers dual match on Tuesday at Backbone Golf & Country Club. Giulia Carbone-Kruger was medalist with a 51, but Starmont’s next golfer was Breeze Neal at fifth with a 58.

Bralie Chettinger (64) tied for eighth while Rylynn Shepley (65), Benelli Meyers (67) and Halie Shepley (71) rounded out Starmont’s golfers.

The boys match, which featured a matchup of two one-loss teams, was not available as of press time.

Sumner-Fredericksburg girls get back to course

The Cougar girls bested Union Community, 182-236, during a North Iowa Cedar League match Tuesday at La Porte City Golf Club. Sumner top four scorers went 1-2-3-4, with Chloe Bolte’s 33 hitting medalist honors. Kylee Krueger (48), Katherine Swehla (49) and Gracie Bloes (52) followed. Alexa Buhman carded a 61 to finish eighth.

The Cougar boys fell, 162-186. Reid Holtz (44) and Levi Maifeld (45) placed fifth and sixth, with Antonio Gitch (47), Jackson Reisner (50) and Dalton Suckow (60) following .

Aidan Treptow scored NEIU’s second goal of the season on a penalty kick, but the co-op fell to 0-7 Monday in Fredericksburg. Brayden Laabs made 24 saves.
