On Wednesday, Aug. 28, at approximately 0052 hours, the Linn County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance at 1320 Franklin St in Center Point, Iowa involving a victim who was injured with a knife. The victim was identified as 36-year-old, Trent Pray of Center Point.
Mr. Pray suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries. A person of interest, 30-year-old Riley Young also of Center Point was identified as leaving the scene and has now been located.
Riley Scott Young was taken into custody on 8/28/25 at approximately 1227 hours, when he turned himself in for questioning at the Linn County Sheriff’s Office. Riley will be taken to the Linn County Correctional Center where he will be charged with First-Degree Burglary, Willful Injury causing Bodily Injury, and Criminal Mischief in the 5th Degree X 2.
