JESUP – The motto of Lions Club International is simply “We Serveâ€, and the Jesup Lions have been serving their community since 1943. They are participating in two upcoming events and invite all to come:

- Jesup Farmers Day, Lions served brats and their Big Wieners from their food booth Thursday evening through Saturday night, June 19-21.

- The Ted Thoma Memorial Truck and Tractor Pull on Friday, June 27, featuring the East Central Iowa Tractor Pullers Association (ECITPA). Gates open at 5:00, events start at 6:30. The grounds are located on 12th Street, Jesup. Bring your own lawn chairs, some grandstands are provided. No coolers, no pets. Jesup Lions Club will be serving pork and beef sandwiches.

- $450: Leader Dogs for the Blind

- $100: Lions Club International Foundation

- $100: Camp Hertko Hollow Diabetes Camp

- $500: Father Ben Ghana Fund

- $1,000: Iowa Department for the Blind

- $500: Jesup Public Library

- $1,000: Jay’s Closet

- $400: American Legion Boys/Girls State

- $200: Friends of Fontana Park

- $750: Camp Courageous

- $40,000: J-Hawk Legacy Ballpark Fund

Please consider attending Jesup Farmers Day and the tractor pull, not only for a good time, but to support the Jesup Lions as they continue to support our community.
