For those who may not be able to attend the mid-week classes at the Williams Wellness Center, trainer and yoga professional Cindy Noll has heard those concerns and created a fresh, new mix beginning this month.
Noll’s “Friday Fusion†will feature a combination of three classes she teaches at the Center — cardio/kickboxing, strength training and yoga — in an effort to assist those who may not get the chance to attend mid-week or prefer to work full-body before heading into the weekend.
“People asked me if I would teach another class during the week, and several of my regulars don’t work on Fridays and they said they would like that,†Noll said. “I just thought what if we mix all the classes that I teach into one so you’re getting all the stretching, you’re getting the strength training and you’re getting the cardio.â€
The class begins this month on Fridays and is held at 9 a.m. Don’t fret; Noll will continue her Monday cardio kick and Tuesday’s strength and stretch and yoga basics classes. All classes taught at the center (besides water aerobics at the pool) are free with a membership/daily pass purchase.
“Everyone said they are excited about something being totally new with something different and being able to hit all those things so that they’re getting a complete full-body workout in one class,†she said.
Noll has been a certified yoga instructor since 2020 and has taught classes at the WWC for two years running. Her classes are designed so that new attendees can jump into the group without question of prior exercises, she said.
“Any of my classes you can jump in because I teach the class for a period of time before I ever switch anything up so everyone gets to learn it and any class that I teach we can modify for any level,†she said. “I’ve always approached all of the classes I teach with a yoga mentality — and it’s your body. Your body can do what your body can do and everybody’s going to do something different, and if something is too hard, we can figure out a way of doing it differently or modified.â€
Her classes are easy for all to join, including the new Friday Fusion, as she said her youngest attendee is 19 and her eldest 82. Classes are for “all bodies.â€
“You only kick as far as you wanna kick, you only punch as hard as you want to punch,†she said of her cardio class.
Friday Fusion doesn’t require much: a yoga mat and a water bottle. Mats are also available at the Center for use.
“I care that you get here, you do it with proper form, you’re here for your mind and your body and your health, yourself and you get out and move,†Noll said. “That’s all I care about.â€
