The Shell Rock American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 393, is pleased to announce that Emma Nielson has been chosen as our representative to attend the annual session of the Iowa American Legion Auxiliary Girls State. Iowa Girls State is held June 15-20 on the campus of Drake University. Emma is the daughter of Adam and Greta Nielson.
Emma attends Waverly-Shell Rock High School. She participates and volunteers through µÚÒ»³Ô¹ÏÍø.
She is involved in Oktoberfest and dance. Emma is a dedicated employee at The Scoop Ice Cream Shop and also takes on the responsibility of training new staff members.
Emma is a talented crafter. She plays a key role in her family’s craft show business. She specializes in crocheted creations. She hand makes all of their scrubbies and stuffed animals.
Emma was chosen to attend Girls State on the basis of interest and leadership. Across Iowa young women between their junior and senior year are selected to attend this program learning about state and local government. Please join us in congratulating Emma!
