The Waverly-Shell Rock baseball team hosted a "Youth Night" at their Tuesday, July 1 matchup against South Winneshiek. Players from a number of youth baseball teams got a chance to stand on the field and greet the Go-Hawks' lineup as they were introduced before the game.
The Waverly-Shell Rock softball team fell to Clarksville by a score of 6-3. The game was not only a matchup of area teams, but also a matchup of sibling head coaches.

In a game to take the lead of the Iowa Star North, the Janesville baseball team fell to class 1A No. 8 Don Bosco by a score of 3-2 on Monday, June 30. The two teams played a fantastic, dramatic game that would need to be settled in extra innings.
The Janesville softball team fell in their rematch against Don Bosco on Monday, June 30 by a score of 3-5. After going up one run early, the Wildcats gave up three runs in the bottom of the third, creating a deficit that they would not be able to battle back from.

The Waverly-Shell Rock baseball team fell by mercy rule Linn-Mar by a score of 20-0 on Wednesday, June 25. Despite the disappointing result in the game, the Go-Hawks did get to honor their two seniors on senior day.
The Waverly Shell-Rock softball team competed at the Don Bosco Annual Softball tournament on Friday, June 27 and Saturday, June 28. The Go-Hawks finished the tournament with a 3-1 record, including a win against a ranked opponent.

June has came and not quite finished in the blink of an eye. Every year, the baseball season seems to move at lightning speed with teams playing nearly every day. As the calendar begins to flip toward July, we are moving ever closer to the beginning of football season.

The Denver baseball team fell in both games of their doubleheader against Dike-New Hartford on Monday, June 23. The wins move the Cyclones one game behind the Wolverines for the conference title with three games remaining in conference play.

The Waverly-Shell Rock softball team shutout the No. 12 ranked team in class 1A, Kee, by a score of 5-0. The result gives the Go-Hawks their third win of the season against teams who have been ranked, and moves their win streak to nine games.
The Janesville and Clarksville baseball and softball teams met in a pair of Iowa Star North conference games on Monday, June 23. The Wildcats came out on top in baseball 16-1, while the Indians stayed undefeated in conference play in softball 5-0.
