Sharing Garden

The goals of the Community Sharing Gardens are to reduce the number of hungry people in NE Iowa by providing fresh and nutritious produce to the local free meal program and the Food Bank of NE Iowa and to teach people of all ages how to garden and where their food comes from.

We’re down to the last two weeks of this years very successful Waverly Community Sharing Garden and Orchard. Saturday, Oct. 1 will be the final harvest and “Clean Up Day.†It’s a big job, so if you’re available to help that day, it sure would be appreciated.

A sincere thank you to those who volunteered during the season. While the season total isn’t done until that day, it is over 10,000 lbs., and our largest harvest season ever.
