Fifth and sixth grade bands are continuing to thrive at W-SR Middle School.
We had a tremendous fifth grade recruiting concert on April 15 and are now preparing for our spring concert on May 22. We are in the final week of our Spring Practice Challenge, as well.
Some students this month went above and beyond in their dedication to practice at home, rehearsal habits, and responsibility this month and have earned the distinction of Musician of the Month.
Musicians of the Month demonstrate: outstanding rehearsal expectations, responsibility, respect, come prepared to lessons, care for others, and possess strong leadership traits.
Throughout the year, Mr. Joe Amsberry, Mr. Tyler Winkey, Mr. Eric Stover and Mrs. Carolyn Bollman will be recognizing fifth and sixth grade band students each month who demonstrate these qualities during lessons and rehearsals.
Fifth graders who were awarded Musician of the Month for April were: Adalynn Hansen (flute), Luna Williams (clarinet), Madden VanKley (trumpet), Naomi Velador (trumpet), Emma Meisgeier (clarinet), Ilsa DeVries (clarinet), Wil Foelske (French horn), Lena Scharnhorst (clarinet), Matt Nelson (alto saxophone), Zoey Zajicek (alto saxophone), Kate Sikora (tuba) and Amelia Adams (alto saxophone, not pictured).
Sixth graders who were awarded Musician of the Month for April were: Abrah McKenzie (clarinet), Easton Kobliska (trumpet), Charlie Schaapveld (percussion), Dexter Shipp (clarinet), Mason Anderson (trombone), Kaycie McCumber (clarinet) and Claire Gann (tuba).
Congratulations to these hard-working and dedicated students! Keep up the great work, and tune in for our final Musicians of the Month of the 2024-2025 school year!
